The Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC) is a nonprofit organization that provides economic opportunities for Latinos in Minnesota by offering ongoing technical assistance, access to lending capital, and training employees in new skills and technologies. LEDC has been engaged in this work for nearly two decades and, as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), can raise capital from a wide range of philanthropic, corporate, and governmental sources to then invest consistent with the mission, goals, and activities described above.
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for LEDC’s property management, and maintenance operations for office sites and real estate properties. Manage vendor and contractor relationships by ensuring contract scope of work is being met. Oversees facilities maintenance, safety, security, and special projects.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Manages all facility aspects of LEDC’s offices and real estate properties.
Directs the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds.
Maintains preventive maintenance records for all buildings, and grounds equipment and recommends changes to improve performance.
Reviews tenants’ usage hours and membership level for accurate billing.
Creates invoices and collects rent from tenants, records receipts in QuickBooks, and makes bank deposits.
Contracts with outside vendors for repairs and normal maintenance.
Leads, manages, and communicates capital projects and property rehabilitations, including scheduling, budgeting, and complying with contractor bidding standards.
Obtains required licenses and permits and ensures full compliance with codes, regulations, and safety standards to protect the well- being of all guests and team members.
Knowledge of contract terms and specifications for property management.
Monitoring expiring contracts and facilitating renewals as necessary.
Develop relationships with the City of Saint Paul Building Inspections.
Other Responsibilities:
Performs additional duties as assigned.
Ensures overall cleanliness of all office areas.
Taking care of inside and outside of the facilities.
Managing relationships with vendors and internal departments.
Inventories office supplies and reorders as necessary.
Mailing-handling and sorting.
Inspecting grounds, facilities, and equipment.
Must have a vehicle.
Skills / Qualifications:
Education: bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
Minimum of 3-5 years leadership experience in maintenance of a manufacturing facility. Facilities experience in a warehouse environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
“Hands on” style, willing and capable of taking a lead role in technical problem-solving efforts.
Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
Must be flexible regarding working hours.
Must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Occasionally work in confined spaces, and the ability to lift and carry heavyweights that could be up to or even exceed 50 lbs. (e.g., moving office furnishing, etc.), work overhead on and off a ladder, and climb stairs repeatedly.
Advanced knowledge and experience with computer programs that support the development team, including Microsoft Office and Teams.
Bilingual English and Spanish.
