Join us as we share the Stories Behind the Menu – Delicious Central America, An Amazing Cultural Experience, featuring Chef Amalia Moreno-Damgaard, author of Amalia’s Mesoamerican Table-Ancient Traditions with Gourmet Infusions.
Coming together to break bread and bridge the cultural divide among people of different backgrounds, races, religions. Utilizing the stories of how food traditions developed in various cultures to create a deeper understanding of one another.
Amalia Moreno-Damgaard is an award-winning author, chef entrepreneur, spokeswoman and media personality, born and raised in Guatemala City and based in the Twin Cities. Through traditional healthy gourmet cuisine, she fosters a broader understanding and appreciation of Latin cultural nuances as well as diversity and inclusion. Amalia also is co-founder of Women Entrepreneurs of Minnesota and President-Elect 2023 of NAWBO-MN (the National Association of Women Business Owners). She was named Latino Entrepreneur of the Year 2021 by the Latino Chamber of Commerce; the 2020 Women in Business Champion of the Year by The U.S. Small Business Administration-MN; and received the Catalyst Award 2020 from Women Venture.
